This was some a piece of secondary software, though, and didn't affect Final Cut. To the author: did you try opening Final Cut from the Applications folder after getting the error can you tell me why is this happening?

I did not. I ended up skipping that disk and installing it later. Something about the sequence led to the error, but all is well now.

I had the same error (twice) when installing Final Cut. It was some piece of secondary software, though, and didn't affect Final Cut. To the author: did you try opening Final Cut from the Applications folder after getting the error?

Loved the presentation :) I have been using Macs since 1985, but I always vote for personal choice. Blind following of any cause is just nuts, no matter how good the basic premises are. This goes for product choices, politics and religion. Egos are a hard thing to deal with.

In general, Macs are better than PCs for certain things but that doesn't give anyone the right to personally attack you for an opinion about something so trivial. I don't get that.
